It’s 48 days until Christmas and in some places the decorations are already going up. But this special Bonus Wrap has more immediate things to focus on, namely some of the news stories from this week that are not in Friday’s edition.
US law firm Akin and its Funds Frontier Lab have launched ‘Living Fund File’, a product ‘designed around the lifecycle of a fund to preserve and connect knowledge developed across matters and over time, making that collective experience more useful to lawyers and clients’. It combines practice-specific workflows, market intelligence capabilities and client collaborations already in use or development, they said.

For example, ‘a legal operations team could describe a need to better manage outside counsel spend, and Maestro could build a system to review invoices against billing guidelines, track spend against matter budgets, flag unusual charges or potential overruns, and route exceptions for approval. It also connects the process across existing enterprise systems and creates a dedicated application employees can use to oversee the work,’ they explained.

FTI Consulting has hired former Eversheds Sutherland CEO Mark Wasserman as a Senior Managing Director focused on advising law firms, corporate legal departments, boards and senior executives. Congrats to Mark!

Harvey has launched a new capability for lawyers who handle lawsuits and internal investigations. Built on Harvey’s fact graph, Harvey reads millions of case documents, extracts relevant facts, flags inconsistencies, and creates a shared record that updates as new information arrives. From that foundation, Harvey agents can draft chronologies, deposition outlines, and briefs from those facts, so lawyers spend more time on argument and analysis, they explained.

A Pramata survey of 464 Legal, Finance, Commercial Ops and IT leaders at companies with $500M+ in revenue, found that nearly 80% are already using AI on their contract data, but only 25% say that data is ready for an AI agent to act on without a person double-checking
Much of this comes down to scattered data: 61% say their contract data lives in four or more places, and only 11% can get a reliable answer in minutes, they said.

Pilot5, an adversarial intelligence for legal teams, has launched Adversarial Verification. Every citation in a Pilot5 legal memo is read by an independent checker, PelAIkan, built by legal tech expert Damien Charlotin, before the lawyer signs.
Pilot5 verifies that the cited case exists; PelAIkan reads the source in the official databases and verifies that it says what the memo claims. As PelAIkan’s states: ‘Most tools confirm a citation exists. PelAIkan goes further: it pulls the source, locates the pinpoint, and tests congruence.’

The initial integration will focus on connecting the iManage platform with Nova, Newcode’s intelligent workspace, allowing legal professionals to access, draft, review and update documents within their existing workflows. Changes are saved back to the iManage platform, where existing iManage permissions, versioning and security policies continue to apply, they said.

Harvey and Jus Mundi have announced a joint partnership. Through the partnership, Jus Mundi’s specialized agent – Jus AI – is integrated directly into Harvey’s Assistant, Agents, Vault and Workflows. This gives international arbitration and cross-border disputes teams authoritative, citation-backed research inside the same environment where they review case files and draft submissions.
The partnership brings Jus Mundi’s arbitration and international law agentic AI to the matter itself, without the matter leaving Harvey. A practitioner can test a client’s position against relevant awards, treaty practice and institutional rules, then compare that research with the record in a Harvey Vault. ‘The result can go straight into a draft memo, pleading or witness-preparation outline, with every authority linked to its source on Jus Mundi’s platform,’ they explained.
More here. And yep, Harvey is just pouring out connections, alliances, and new features at the moment.
