BigHand and law firm management platform Aderant have announced a partnership that will combine the two companies’ capabilities in financial metrics and analysis with data warehousing and dashboarding.
The companies will also run joint events and webinars to educate law firms using Aderant’s Expert software on the benefits of the partnership and about BigHand’s financial productivity solutions.
It’s another example of legal tech companies partnering closely together to provide clients with greater capabilities. We recently have seen what appears to be a surge in such moves, which go beyond the usual and often very far apart connections many legal tech companies have been operating for many years.
Close partnerships make a lot of sense when companies can see a clear product synergy, but when even deeper links are not what either party wants in the short-term. Of course, you then have to deal with matters such as client ‘ownership’, co-branding of marketing, and then how the relationship evolves.
However, this allows each company to do what they are best at, without having to build out what each other already can offer.
